artist Statement
My art is about survival, resilience, daydreams, and wonder. I create a visual journey for people to disengage everyday life and meditate for any period of time. My paintings are filled with elements to lift our spirits, evoke curiosity, and allow us to dwell in visual pleasure.
I have found through a lifetime of creative inquiry that the main goal for my painting is to elevate the mind, body, and soul, and ultimately to make art which makes people happy, and brightens their day.
Having served as an artist for the US Army, I visually documented Soldiers in combat situations through first hand experience, My abstract work is often the polar opposite of those experiences, and on the other hand very much like the daily Organized chaos which has filled my life, and organized with artistic regard to sooth our mind, body, and soul.
The greatest gift to the creator, is the creative, so I create to honor my existence.
